1951: de Mestral applies for a Swiss patent for his hook and loop fastener
1955: A hook and loop fastener patent is granted in the USA
1958: The VELCRO trademark is registered
1961: NASA take VELCRO® brand fasteners into space
1965: The footwear industry discovers VELCRO® brand fasteners
1967: The company manufactures its first plastic hook product
1975: VELCRO® brand products are offered for retail sale
1995: Introduced, HTH® brand of industrial strength
1996: Introduced, ONE-WRAP® brand fasteners technology of hook backed to loop
1998: Roll out of garden products
2000: Introduction of Fairy Light Clips
2004: NEW & improved Haberdashery Range launched nationwide
